I'm a project manager at a small privately owned financial software house based in Z├╝rich.

pseudocode is a compact and informal high-level description of a computer programming algorithm that uses the structural conventions of a programming language, but is intended for human reading rather than machine reading. No standard for pseudocode syntax exists, as a program in pseudocode is not an executable program.

Around year 2000 I was an IT contractor, and Pseudocode was the name of the company I used. Since then I've used the name and web address on a few small projects, none particularly noteworthy or in existence now, so it was natural to resurect it for my blog.

Pseudocode has an amusing resonance (at least to me) with my current role, since I'm now a development manager and pseudocode is my stock in trade, rather than real code as when I first used the name.

As of now (day one) I don't have any deep agenda or purpose for this blog. Stuff happens in my professional/technology life which may or may not be of interest to others, and some of that I have a view on which I may feel worthwhile trying to articulate. With a bit of luck somebody will read it (although even writing this small bit is fun anyway), and they may even like it although comments on other blogs suggest people will more likely be annoyed with the content, and even more likely with the formatting or my use of en_(GB|US|AU).
